THE BUCKET AND THE WATER

If you are a star, then shine
If the sun, give brilliance

If you are the cloud, give rain

If darkness, then shroud apiece

Just forms are no deal

Where substance are in breach

The figs tree tells its story

Just leafy show and no fruits

Will breed the curse, right on time

Who bore the curse?

The figs tree, not the master.

Curse curseless cannot come.

Hasten to the parley of the trees:

Let the olive give its fat:

TO God and man add honour

And the fig, sweetness of fruit.

Let the vine give its wine

To God and man,give cheer

But the bramble, all low and show

The ambitious are first to push

They are not mindful

To seek out the needful

In order to be fruitful

As the called and faithful

Made to be grateful.
